Dr. Sundeep Varma is an Edmonton family physician whose clinical focus is perimenopause and menopause, and a physician-entrepreneur building technology that helps families look after aging parents.

Menopause care

Too many women going through menopause have felt that their symptoms were not being heard. Dr. Varma's clinic exists to change that. With new and exciting research in menopause care, he is keen to share this knowledge and help his patients feel heard, understood and supported through this stage of life. As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), he runs a dedicated menopause clinic at Capilano Medical Centre, offering unhurried, evidence-based care from the first signs of perimenopause onward:

• Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
• Non-hormonal options
• Practical support for sleep, mood, bone and heart health

Care is covered by Alberta Health.

Aesthetic medicine and intimate health

Dr. Varma trained in aesthetic medicine in London, UK, and has been helping patients meet their aesthetic goals since 2019. He has since trained in New York City in non-surgical cosmetic gynaecology. Through London & Glow, he offers consultation-led care for:

• Vaginismus
• Vulval rejuvenation
• Facial balancing
• Skin rejuvenation

All informed by a clear understanding of how hormonal and menopausal change affects the skin and intimate health.

Teaching

Dr. Varma is a Clinical Lecturer in family medicine, teaching medical students in family medicine and women's health. Teaching has run through his whole career: in the UK he was a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Anatomy and received an award from the Queen's Anatomist.

Founder of Harmoni

Dr. Varma is also the founder of Harmoni Care Inc. The idea came from his residency, working shifts in the emergency room. Again and again he saw older adults arrive after a fall or a fracture, and when he asked the family what had happened, the story was always the same: a slower walk, a restless night, a routine quietly missed for days before anyone connected the dots. By the time they reached him, the moment to step in gently had passed. Harmoni began as the answer to that pattern.

Harmoni won the People's Choice Award at the Alberta College of Family Physicians' Family Medicine Innovation Forum 2026, earning a place among six innovations presented on the mainstage.

Training and background

• Biochemistry at Imperial College London
• Medical degree in the Czech Republic
• Postgraduate training in London and Oxford (MRCGP, DFSRH), then Canada (CCFP)
• Founded and ran a longevity clinic in Mayfair, London, before Edmonton
• MBA, which underpins the ventures he builds today

Every patient is welcome. Dr. Varma offers a safe, non-judgmental space, including for LGBTQ+ patients and people from underserved communities, and looks at the whole person: physical health, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle and identity.
